Whatever is happening where you are does take precident to the person/people living there, even if the major powers-that-be don't give a rip. I honestly feel that Norway and Sweden, both of whom we don't hear much about, are doing great. They haven't given into some of the things that the U.S. has and look at how successful they are. No one bothers them.
